You have to apply and give them a wee story about yourself, and your reasons for wanting to join. I got some schpiel back about them not accepting any more members, but they were and still are advertising! It put me off applying for any other groups, (I think there was a hint of snobbishness about it actually, because of where I live?) C'est la vie, the charity shop gets all my unwanted if I don't get rid of it at the carboot.

I really am shocked Jackie, I joined one and no issue, just applied by email and came back a few days later approved. I only used it once to give a highchair and never really bothered again

    Morning all

It's not raining!! The skies are still very heavy but the sun is trying to get through and there is no rain at the moment - bliss!!

That flip camera looks great, may have to look into that further!

Taplady & Doe - hope the heads clear, it may well be related to the weather, make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

Got up full of energy this morning, have made some hummus (not sure if I like it though, it's a little bitter), and made a big panful of pasta sauce. I went to Asda yesterday and nearly all their fresh veg was reduced so I stocked up! Will think of what to do with the rest later but the salad stuff will probably be gone by tonight.

Lowesy, How sad are we that a present to ourselves would be a stockpot? My family think I'm nuts to get excited over such things!!

Flutterby - well done on the interview, have a good weekend.

Hope you all have a good day, not sure what I will be doing today, boredom could set in!

Morning all, hope all is well. Not raining at the moment ,but looks threatening.I've not seen rain like we had last night for years,we were actually stood watching it,getting slightly concerned as the house is in a dip,and there was a river running down the drive.Fortunately there is a big grid at the bottom, which coped, though it does need clearing of debris now.Our giant hound was lying in the conservatory, and didnt like the noise at all-if he could have stuck his paws in his ears he would have :D

I've scrubbed our bathroom, tidied the bedroom, taken the dog out,and put the bm on.I've taken some turkey steaks out of the freezer for tonight, probably have with salad.

My friend took me to a seconds shop yesterday, and I treated myself to a black and white P*r Un@ dress,we're going to France for a few days in September,so I thought it would be nice for then.We came back here and had a good natter.I've also got my laptop back,DS1s friend who has an IT business wiped it clean and put Windows 7 on-it seems super quick now.It needed doing for a while, but since last week when it got a lurgy,it was hopeless.

Better crack on,wishing you all a good day.x

Can some explain something for me please? I have a brown leather suite, WHY IS IT SO HARD TO KEEP CLEAN

I have to wipe it over everyday and a good clean once a week , just makes me realise my old cloth suite must have been stinking even though did not look it lol We have a cloth one in othr room and I keep throws over it as it is light coloured, seen brown covers for it ( Ikea suite and can change the covers ) but I would say brown cloth would be harder to keep clean than the beige I have lol I just take the throws off when having visitors as this is " good room " lol

    Morning All,

Had a bit of a strange scary evening. My brother rang to say he had fallen whilst fishing and dislocated his shoulder and broke a bone in his arm and was at the local hospital getting sorted, then we were just about to go to bed when our youngest DS who is 14 said he felt a bit odd he went in the kitchen for a drink and promptly passed out on the kitchen floor:eek: scared us both to death so rushed him up to A & E who were wonderful but after a thorough check they think he just fainted and has a bug. He has had an upset tummy for a couple of days. My dilemma is he is due to go on annual camp on saturday with the cadets. They do all sorts of strenuous activities, I really don't know what to do. He feels a bit out of sorts but not really ill, think I will delay the decision until tomorrow:question:

Mum and dad are visiting this afternoon for an hour and then I will be on the Wii doing Boxcercise which I love. Also a long walk when DH gets home. Tea is Southrn Fried Chicken with Cauliflower out of the garden.

Need to do some baking soon, everyone is wanting cake but find it very hard to resist on my diet.

    Have a good day x

Jackie....I cannot believe that you were not accepted on freecyle, there is another group I think its called freegle or some such, try that.

I have had a disaster this morning, made a victoria sponge and its like a biscuit......really cross, the oven we correct temp, it was in the middle right sized tins....ggggrrrrr I am not used to failure!!

Never mind it will go in the bottom of a dish with a tin or oranges tipped over it, oprange jelly and tinned custard, orange trifle.......

Thank heavens the spag bol sauce was ok.........

It has cleared up a bit so took the bull by the horns and put the towels in the washer, they are on the line. I want to change ur bed tomorrow before DD2 gets here, so pray for fine weather, I do not want wet washing hanging around on the airer......

OH outside, he has set in all the cobbles on the front to stop the lorries coming to the farm cutting the corner. 6 lavender bushes in place and 6 cuttings dibbed in, fingers crossed they will take ok. I need at least 10 more plants to make the hedge. it may be a few years coming. I found a creeping campanua which he had put in for me, I also have aubretia seeds which I am going to grow next year, I want to puit some in the stone wall round the back garden, the vinca is growing ok so I don't see why aubretia wont.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

day one of the summer holidays and its pouring with rain, the poor tomato plants dont look good after last nights wind and rain. So hoping the weather improves as we are away next week. At least the boys have played good today - i feel rough still so need an easy few days. Hopefully cof, cold and sinutitus will go over weekend as I am so drained.

Had a day in as all spare cash is for holiday spends next week - going to a friends tomorrow for a play date. Have hhovered the whole house and cleaned the bathroom, kitchen needs a qiuck clean but I'm too tired!

    Take care everyone xx

JackieG - ridiculous! I can't imagine why you would have to 'apply' and be rejected for something like that!

Taplady and Doelani - it could be the weather, maybe you aren't getting enough sleep (or good enough quality sleep) so they are down to tiredness? Although if you only have the headache when you wake up and it goes away through the day, ask your dentist to check if you might have been grinding your teeth in your sleep.

Julie - glad your son seems to have been ok in the end.

Csarina - I'd be furious too! You keep thinking "How on earth?" because you didn't do anything differently!

You've all got lashings of rain and autumn has arrived then? Still quite sunny here, there are spells of sunshine, cloud and showers today but nothing like the monsoons I keep hearing about. Hoping the weather is nice for Saturday, open-air gig it is and all day, but I'd rather it wasn't TOO scorching hot else I may burn!

    Hi all.

Thought I'd better post, don't want Jackieglasgow chasing me again.:D Actually, JG, I could do to borrow your wee one; I can't chop onions without adding a garnish of fingers, have to use one of those onion-dicing wotnots these days.

Mr LW took the 1st slice of banana cake to w*rk in his lunch box, and has phoned me just to tell me it was delicious.:A Phew!! I'm always on tenterhooks whenever I bake something new.

Julie67 yes I like the Boxercise on the Wii; it's ideal when someone has really p1ssed me off. I do have a strategically placed sofa, in case my knees give out from under me though, and Mr LW is banned from the room when I'm on the WiiFit. I hope your DB and DS are both OK.

Good ol' bangers'n'mash for dins tonight; Quorn bangers, and there's a virtually empty jar of Marmite, so I'll be swilling that round with hot water and making Marmite gravy. HM apple crumble for pud.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
