How do you Ignore someone?

I have never had cause to "ignore" anyone before but have just received an abusive pm from some ignorant person. Ive clicked to add them to my ignore list and it autofills in their name. Yet when I click OK it says the user isn't on the database, despite their little green light being on to show they're online.
Ive tried copying and pasting their name too and their name still isn't found. I can do it with other users for some reason. ??????

Do I copy and paste it into an email? I can't understand why I can't "ignore" him though
There's sometimes a bit of an issue trying to add someone to your ignore list. (think it's something to do with whether or not their user name starts with a capital letter)
But one way that always works for me is to view their user profile (usually available by clicking on their name). That will show you if the user is PPR'd (banned)
If not, from their user profile page, click on 'user lists', and then click on 'Add to ignore list'.
Works every time.
(except against BGs or MSE staff - but you'll get a message explaining why in those instances)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I just tried that and it worked, Premier! Thanks a lot!0
