CPW/ Orange trying to take money out of wrong account?!?

Options
Hi there,

Basically i took out a contract from CPW with orange, all good.

However, i received a letter from Natwest a few weeks later saying they could not pay the D/D due to there being not funds.

So i looked into it and noticed they are trying to take it out of my old/other account i used to use.

The reason they are doing this is because i used to have my iPhone contract going out of that account until I changed it to a new account.

Now, obviously i can now change the contract to my normal account, but i assume there is now going to be some sort of black mark on my name because i couldn't pay?

Is there basically anyway out of this, or just have to live with it?

Hope this made sense,

Jay

When you order another phone you normally have to re-enter your bank details for the direct debit (at least over the internet). You need to speak with Orange immediately; it is quite possible it will leave a black mark on your credit file for years - if they accept the mistake (whoever made it) and you correct it and pay what is owed they may be able to prevent or remove any mark. Make sure they haven't passed it to a third party debt collector as well - or you will be in a worse mess. Ensure you also don't have any little "extras" like insurance or TMTI set up either!!

    Thanks,
I will call orange in the morning.
I think its CPW fault, as i took the contract out with them. They even did a credit check on the account i wanted it to come out off. i think ill nip down there aswell.

    Thanks

Maybe. BUT cpw can't stop the black mark or debt collectors. Try Orange first (in case they need cpw to confirm anything with them).
