avupdate.exe - legit?

Hi all,
Was just browsing the web, when a Windows Explorer -type box popped up, telling me my computer was at risk (nothing from the Firewall, or AV), and to download a file called avupdate.exe
In order to close the box, I had to download the file, but I obviously haven't run this .exe file, as I don't think it's legitimate.
I've run a full AV scan (Avira), a Malwarebytes scan, and a SuperAntiSpyware scan, both on my whole system, and specifically on the file itself, but nothing's come up.
Do I need to be worried?
Ta,
J

If the file is less than 20MBs you can upload the file to http://virscan.org/ where it will be scanned by about 40 different virus checkers. This page suggests it's not good.0

Just doing that now, cheers!
If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you

Since it seems as if there is probably a Trojan in there - what do I do now?! I haven't run the file, but does that mean it hasn't infected my machine? Can I quarantine the downloaded .exe file somehow? If so, could someone explain (in easy terms) how to do this!
Thanks. If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you

FWIW there's a fuller description here:

Why do you want to quarantine it? Just delete it and the job is done.0 -
The link by GeoffX suggests it is dropped by a worm so malwabytes scan should be carried out. Although this should be done even if that wasn't the case. Also run hijack this log. Instructions below written by alienRIK:
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)0 -
Will do both now and post results.
Ta!If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving isn't for you
