  • As a search on Google dosn't come up with anything well just have to run with what we've got. Have you got an anti-virus and firewall up and running?(and up to date). download Adaware, Spybot S&D, Spywareblaster,Ccleaner and Microsoft spyware progs. run a scan with each, check for updates on each before running scan. If these don't clear it come back.

  • You havn't said if you have all the tools above and they are updated regularly. If you havn't get them, they're all free and essential.

i installed the windows software above - it looked great, it found loads of spyware and removed/quarantined them for me - i thought great - it told me to reboot, aaaaaaaarrghghgh - when i rebooted my pc wouldnt work right and my firewall had gone - couldnt find it to switch it back on and most of my programs wouldnt work, hence i have had to restore my pc back to before i installed it.................WHAT DID I DO WRONG?
  • Do you have a separate firewall as well as the Windows SP2 one, if so disable the windows one?Two firewalls can cause problems if run at the same time. Which program told you to reboot? If you downloaded (and lost) all the above programs I would be inclined to dowload one at a time and run it. This could enable you to trace which is caudsing the problem.
