Out of the ones you've mentioned it has to be the Nokia X6, good all round handset, feels pretty solid. The Vivaz is poor, it has a number of noted problems, steer clear, not sure about the Apollo, havent seen it. To be honest I'd fork out the £100 for the Desire, thats if they ever get any stock in0

to be honest i'm more between galaxy s and iphone4 now0
-
I wasnt overly impressed with the Galaxy S, I've had a mess about with it and it didnt feel as quick as the Desire, it feels cheaper too, nice screen though, I'd still go for the iPhone 4 despite all the bother with signal0
-
i swapped my desire for a galaxy s its quicker than the desire ti has a better processor, i like the galaxy s it records hd videos as well and has a better battery as well but the desire is also good0

i work in phone sales and i would say the deal you have been offered with orange is very good!
out of the handsets you have mentioned i would probably recommend the x6 as the most reliable and best one!
as for the desire/galaxy s/iphone discussion... we have sold well over 100 iphone4's and had none returned due to signal problems... its just something the media have blown out of proportion! desire is a lovely hanset really responsive and the screen is gorgeous... the galaxy s.. personally although it is a nice hanset and camera looks really good i think the menus look cheap and its a bit ofputting!0 -
I think also if you get the desire a cover should be a must as the desire in bright sunlight is horrible0

I think i'll end upi going for iphone to be honest, i have had my mind set on it and money put aside, and know a few people with one and haven't heard any problems except on tv!
was thinking about a blackberry bold but don't like the buttons!
the guy from vodafone that i spoke to today has a desire and he said he wish he'd waited till the iphone4 was out (but didn't want to sell that to me - he was trying to sell me others but in a nice way)0 -
Is the Samsung Wave S8500 any good?0

Its basically the same specs as the galaxy s but uses samusungs own bada os instead of android on the galaxy s0

Of course...
18 month contract
300 mins
100 texts
unlimited internet
unlimited landline
As part of the retention those phones were offered for free. But the HTC Desire is £100/Samaung Galaxy is £200 - which I may be able to haggle down.
Just sorted my retention offer... the above contract for £20 a month with a Samsung Galaxy S for £49.99! Pleased with that.
I have a month to go on the contract and they told me it no longer matters what time you apply to upgrade. Last year (when I last had a retention offer) I was told to wait until contract expiry for the best offer - but this is no longer the case. Go for it with a month to go.0
