I always use holiday-rentals.co.uk. I never bother looking at other sites anymore when I'm planning a trip and we go away about half a dozen times a year.
  • We advertise our place on https://www.ownersdirect.com and have done for a year now. We get the majority of our bookings via them and the rest come from friends and family.

Remember that building your own website is great, but you need to understand that the big established websites like OD and HR have the expertise and money to get onto the top of the searches on google etc. We built our own and it is great for our family, friends and people who have seen our ad in the local shop to have a look at, but we never come anywhere on the search engines. So unless you put a lot of time into optimising your site, it won't produce results as quickly as the established sites.

Make sure you take excellent pictures as they will sell your place to any potential renters. When people ring they usually make a comment about the photos and how pristine the apartment looks - and more often than not, they book.

If you need any help with terms/conditions, booking forms, security deposit etc, then just let me know and I will be pleased to help.
  • Hi

I have a place on the Costa de la Luz and have found holiday-rentals.co.uk very good. I book all summer out no problem with them,

If you decide to use the site and quote my details in the notes when you fill in your advert, before paying you will get extra photos to show off your place which saves you about £40 i think.

My property number is: 19249 and my user name is sazzleevans.

You just have to quote this and then you get the extra photos and i get an extra month of advertising with them.

    Hope that helps.

  • I can also be of service for a recommend to holiday-rentals.co.uk by quoting property number 19249 and user name chiefmissile.

Thanks both of you, may have to toss a coin if I go with holidayrentals!!!! They certainly seem to be the one to go with, may also go with owners direct.

Apartment not ready yet  , quel suprise! Going out next week to see it, hoping to do prelim snagging. V excited!!!!! :j :j :j :j

However, even although we are hoping to be in by May I probably won't rent out till autumn - need air con units, sky, tv, dvd, pictures, barbecue, patio furniture, bathroom shelves, lockable cupboard for us..... etc etc    . Hmmmm, fully furnished seems a bit of a misnomer!!!!!!!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
