Problems with Orange!

My girlfriend had a 1 month SIM only rolling contract with Orange, which she had for about 16months, however it was getting a bit expensive so she decided to cancel it.

While trying to cancel it she was put through to someone else who offered her a new deal due to her "loyalty" for slightly more a month but more suited to her needs and with a new handset which seemed reasonable.

When the first bill arrived we were shocked to find that she was now in an 18 month contract. This was a surpirse as there was never any mention of a contract length, she assumed that it was a continuation of her rolling contract. If Orange had mentioned an 18 month contract she would have turned it down to prevent being in a fixed term contract.

She has called Orange and was told someone will look into it and call her back. She is still waiting....

Is there anything she can do about this???? I have heard about requesting the recording of the telephone conversation to prove that she didn't agree to enter into an 18 month contract. Is that something that she can do???

No company is going to offer a free phone on a rolling contract, it just wouldnt be financially viable for the company, (remember handsets are highly subsidised and paid for during the course of the contract) other than ask for the recording im not sure what else can be done, maybe sell the phone and buy out the rest of the contract

Sadly I don't fully believe the story as told above, and I 've said it before but will say it again, anyone who laps up this loyalty rubbish, deserves what follows ;)'
Free phone on a sim only and that sounds feasable to you or your GF?
