Sorry if this has already appeared but if so I could not find it. If it has can someone kindly show me where.
Some years ago I had Sky and actually purchased the dish from Sky. I cancelled my Sky subscription but as I own the dish I can get all the channels I want. Can I buy something like the Foxsat PVR and use it with the Sky dish so I can record off the tele. I manage with my analogue recorder for the main 5 channels but want to be ready for analogue switch off.

Short answer yes.
Did you get rid of your old Sky box?
Anyhow - you can buy a box and connect it to the cable(s) that are there and away you go
EDIT - the digital switchover has nothing to do with your dish by the way.0 -
To use the PVR faciities on the Foxsat HDR, you will need a twin feed from the LNB. If you previously had Sky+ then you will already have this. If you have an old single feed then you will need to run a second cable (and possibly need a new Quad LNB).No free lunch, and no free laptop

Short answer = maybe.
It depends on how old the dish / LNB is, if it is circular it may be an old analogue set up, and will not work.
If it is an oval shaped dish it should be OK, however, as Macman suggests, you may need to change the LNB to a quad one and run another cable to use the recording facilities of the Foxsat PVR.0 -
99% correct answers here - yes, make sure it's a minidish, and if you want to watch one/record one, you'll need 2 feeds from the dish. But the Humax Foxsat PVR that you're talking about will happily run off one feed, including recording, but you just can't do 2 channels at the same time obviously.0
