Equifax call centre Asia based? bit difficult

Okay, I misunderstood what Curt meant by "National security disaster", now that you've explained, I have to say that I don't agree with you. I worried more about identity theft. My problem would be that the Data Protection Act is there to ensure that our personal information doesn't fall into the wrong hands. I had to send in copies of my passport, my driving licence etc. My credit card details are stored in Equifax's system. Now this is no longer held in the UK or even the EU for that matter..... so how do I know that that my details are safe? I'd much prefer that my details remained here, where I know that Equifax are goverened by the Data Protection Act.0

Yeah they are, even though its overseas, the entity still trades under UK regulations...but without realizing it you're actually agreeing with my point.
One person, (i.e. you) having their information compromised = potential fraud/misuse of information etc. Having the ability to do that to a number of individuals of an entire country = national security risk.
I was actually going to add in a wiseass line about it being a miracle that the passport office and co haven't been taken off shore too (or their call centers at least). Asians pretty much run the post office already.
This is an example of one of the problems with Globalization.0
