Something like that. I work 30+ hours a week and I don't earn much more than £13.5 K.

i get nothing in child maintanence. i would be very well off if i chose to work full time but its not worth losing out on the time id lose in spending with my baby. hes already down one parent and i need to be around as much as possible for him, so weighing out my options. about my work situation.0

at the moment i get child tax credits because ive not started the job yet. i want to spend as much time at home with my very young baby rather than having to use child care.
so if i work less than 16 hours will i be entitled to income support? Im very new to applying for benefits so please excuse my ignorance.
If you work 16 hours you will get more tax credits that you do today0 -
£13.5k is a fortune for any number of hours, let alone 16! You can easily manage on that.0

not with the hefty mortgage i have to pay. i dont want to end up selling the house.
I had a very wealthy husband and every expense i had prior to our split was paid for by him despite the abuse i suffered. i worked full time and had a very comfortable salary that went straight into paying my mortgages- 2000 a month.
ive now bought it down to interest only payments which is 600 pounds per month. but still working out how to pay it off, live in the house, work and claim benefits where i can.
hence my ignorance- ive never applied for any sort of benefit in my life so really do appreciate the constructive support offered by members here. Thank you.0 -
