iphone won't find a network abroad

We are currently on holiday in France. Myself and my wife both have iphones, mine automatically finds the network and can be used as normal.
My wife's phone doesn't find a network despite it being set up with Orange to do so, and the settings being the same as mine. It also runs the battery down double quick as it is continually searching for a network.
The same thing happened in Tenerife earlier this year.
Is there somethng else I'm missing to get it to work, or is it a fault and she should take it t Apple for them to look at?
Cheers
David

If it is set up exactly the same as yours it sounds like a fault with the phone. Before getting in touch with them, however, I would do one last check to ensure you haven't done something silly like left it in Airplane mode or got roaming switched off. It could also be that, for whatever reason, Orange haven't switched roaming on at their end for your wife.If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Thanks, no airplane isn't switched on and certainly orange's website says its enabled for roaming.0

Your wife does have roaming enabled on her acc ?
Also, try swapping sim's, this will tell you if it's a problem with the sim (acc) or the phone...0
