o2 calling abroad advice

Hi. My 15 year old son goes to lanzarote in 2 weeks with friends family. He is on 02 PAYG and im on o2 pay monthly. I just wondered if i call him while on holiday will this just get taken off my minutes? Or will i get charged extra? And also will he get charged for recieving calls/texts? Have looked at the faq's online, but its all abit confusing to me

It won't cost you any more to call him, but he'll be charged for receiving as well as making calls. O2 CS can give you the figures...0

Get your son to contact O2 and get the chosen country facilty added to his phone,costs £5 for one month....this will allow calls TAKEN when abroad will be free instead of 19p/minute.....His calls back home will be cheaper too,currently 35p/minute0
