OMG! Most ridiculous neg!

Well I just checked into Ebay to find my lovely 100% wrecked by a newbie buyer. They purchased an item which belonged to one of my twin daughters which they had outgrown. Sold well, buyer collected very happy etc. So I listed the other one then find a neg along the lines 'thought it was genuine sale obviously not,as same (item) same seller still on ebay'.
I'm fuming!!

That is ridiculous...but in terms of sorting it out - can you contact the buyer and explain that you have twins and therfore two of the item, and ask her to follow up the neg with a comment stating it was unjust...left in error....etc.

CS should remove it then without you using a fb withdrawal.

More to the point, what the !!!! has it got to do with her if you had two of them and she was happy with the one she bought?

I have no idea. The item was perfect (although that wasn't her problem). Just doing the revision form thingy now. Although I don't hold out much hope... It's just SO unfair.

Ebay is funded by the seller but works entirely in the interest of the buyer. A seller can't even leave negative feedback for a buyer!

There are huge amounts of users now that object to business sellers pretending to be privat eones. This could be a simple case of misunderstanding, they see that you sold two identical items (even if they are second hand/used) and assume you are wrongly registered. This is definitely one to contact the buyer about as it can easily be resolved. Phone them if an email doesn't work.

IMO second hand clothes are the category that is most likely to get the 'upgrade to business' email from ebay. This buyer might be one of those who dislike wrong registartions and have just misunderstood in your case.

And how does it help leaving a neg for a buyer if they snipe in the last few seconds of your auction or if they hit the BIN button. Ahh it doesn;t

Just respond to feedback saying "I have twin daughters, hence had TWO outfits to sell".

They obviously just think you're a business as you had two rather than one item.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Have you got in contact with them to ask exactly why the buyer left an neg & ask them to reconsider?

LOL - Yes two - not 102. Quite honestly I don't know what they think. Chances of getting two of the identical item I sold if I was a business I imagine would be impossible anyway.
I have done a follow up feedback which is more or less identical to your suggestion. I have also asked them to reconsider and explained why. (I even spent the morning hunting for a pic of my kids using said items to send them!)

If they reconsider can they remove their neg or can they only add a follow up. Looked on help pages but couldn't find this answer.

YOu can send them a feedback revision (which if they agree to), they can then revise the feedback. However you only get a certain amount of 'feedback revisions' - 5 per 1000 transactions springs to mind but I could be wrong. Best bet is to try and get CS to remove it without you having to use a 'revision request'. Only way CS will remove it will be if the buyer contacts them or leaves a follow up comment asking for it to be removed.
