Very pleased I went out for a run after work today to take advantage of the sunny evening. It would have been wrong not to after all this soggy weather and tomorrow looks another washout.

Slow start then built up strongly to run it one minute quicker than before - yipee!

Not very happy - laptop has crashed, I'm full of cold and bunged up head and ears and sore throat ,feeling pretty rotten.

Hoping can get the lappy working again and having another go tonight to see if I can rescue it from despair.

Also hoping I feel better tomorrow so will be inhaling steam and vicks to try and shift some of this foggyness and bunged up ness especially in my ear

Have sorted out the laptop after it crashed and burned. Wiped it clean and reconnected it back t'internet. All back working quicker and thankfully didn't lose anything too much as most was backed up

Still have a head full of cottonwool coming out of my ears so will be off for an early night soon to try and sleep it off

No running this weekend as need to try and get over this asap so will attempt to tackle some of the assignment if I can concentrate enough while feeling rubbish

Bleeuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrgh - feel absolutely rubbish today. Nothing is taking the bungedupness away. Looks like I'll have to sit it out and hope it goes away soon.

Would have liked to go for a long run today and get another one ticked off the training plan but no chance as felt dreadful all day so a day of doing not much instead

Hope I feel better tomorrow as today has been the worst day out of the last 3 days for the symptoms. A bloody head cold - that's all it is and its knocked me flying that's for sure!

Another bleeuurghy day here with the rain lashing it down and looks like it'll be here all day. Plus a day where I still feel dreadful and my ears are blocked and painful. They were hissing last evening and night and all day today so I'll try and get in at the Dr's tomorrow and see if they know what's causing this. Think after 5 days of this enough is enough and no OTC meds are doing anything at all apart from ever so slightly taking some pain away.

Had a nice warming bowl of soup for lunch which warmed me up and feel a little better after that and a hot cup of tea too plus my favourite extremely thick hazelnut yoggie

Nothing very exciting going on here. Thinking I'll take tomorrow off work to see if I can get in at the Drs and also get some rest and recovery in to get over this asap. Plus my hearing is now affected on the left side more than last week.

Just about to have a mosey online for some clothes to see if they will end up in the sale in a few weeks time. Not buying any today! I managed to get through April without buying any and have made a little list of some things to get if I can find any cheap enough

Yesterday instead of studying as felt so yukky I couldn't concentrate at all I decided to do the clothes swap around from winter to summer. Tried on most things to see what fitted and what didn't. So out went a pair of city shorts which would have looked really nice if they weren't too big around the waist. A couple of dresses are a bit on the large side but they might do for work when the weather picks up - I'll see when we get there.

So what do I think I'll get - a day dress, summer skirt, cropped trousers, maybe a pair of city shorts and a couple of tops. Plus could do with some more work trousers and will have a look for a cheap and hardwearing pair that can cope with wash after wash after wash!

Still feel pretty rotten today and have taken the day off to try and recover. Also got in at the Dr's this afternoon to see what's going on and what I can do.

At least I got an hour of reading done last night and will have a go at making a start on the assignment to see if anything makes sense while I feel like this with no energy

Just before I start the assignment.......I did it and applied for the ballot for the 2013 VLM. Who knows if I'll get a place? I'm in the ballot to see and will find out in October.

Hmm making slow progress with the assignment. Its very complex indeed. Feeling a little better this afternoon but still not right. Trying all the things the dr suggested to sort the ear infection out which looks like its connected to that pesky cold I 've had for weeks and weeks. So I think it will take a few more days to get right and I can't rush it with the half marathon at stake.

What a day. Firstly feel pretty bad today after I thought I was feeling a bit better yesterday. Back to feeling knocked outagain with a hissing ear.

Second rubbish thing - internet has gone down for some unfathomable reason.

Third rubbish thing - toilet handle has broken today.

Let's hope thats all for now and the three things are quite enough!

I made myself sit down and write the critical appraisal even though I didn't feel like it I thought I'd better as the deadline rapidly appraoches. I think its almost done bar some tweaking. Looks like I'll be off tomorrow so I 'd better try and knuckle down to doing some more. Just what I don't feel like while I feel this rubbish. Oh well, sometimes life is just to test us!

More or less finished 1/3 assignments. Number 2 assignment is half finished leaving the dreaded and larger number 3 assignment to begin. That's going to be a hard 5 days of work while feeling like this. Hoping the antibiotics make a difference meaning I feel better and can go back to work.

Well its bedtime soon as I feel quite dreadful. Hoping tomorrow is a better day alround.
