Item won, paid for and collected. Why would seller want to cancel?

Hi OP this is something you must decide for yourself personally I would not agree to the cancelation and if I were you now I would double check everything you bought to make sure there is nothing wrong with any of it.
The reason I say this is because if a seller is willing to cheat ebay out of their fees then the seller is also willing to rip you off as well and once the sale is canceled then the sale never happened and you have no rights at all if the goods do turn out to be faulty.

Don't worry freddysmith, I haven't agreed or implicated myself in any way. And I won't be. Thanks though.

Thanks George. I think it's odd as she didn't mention it when I picked the items up. She was also v happy to show me all the items, and made sure I was happy which I was. I rounded up the cash to the nearest note an told her not to worry about the change, which she seemed really taken aback at. So I think I've probably done enough.

Your being a little short sighted. If everyone did this. Then ebay wouldn't make much money (yes I know you don't care) so what would happen is listing fees will rise which will effect you.

Like TD I believe in paying for things.

If everyone started doing this then ebay would quickly pull everyone on it and I am sure even now they have mechanisms in place for flagging up people who do it often, but the poster obviously does not do it often (never before).
Also this can only really happen on collection items which are paid in cash and therefore are big or bulky and sometimes expensive. The majority of ebayers buy from anywhere in the country and indeed the world.
I also believe in paying for things ,but, if I can get away with not paying then that is ideal, you are obviously at the top end of the moral payment ladder and thiefs, shoplifters and burglers are at the bottom, I am somewhere inbetween but even though I would make a few quid at ebays expense I am a lot nearer the moralists at the top of the ladder than the robbers on the bottom.

As others have said, it is your decision but it is actually an offence under Section 11 of the Fraud Act 2006.

Ebay has provided the service at a charge on a scale which the seller accepted when listing. It may not consider it worth pursuing but if it were to then you would be implicated which could have knock on effects with getting insurance amongst other things.

So there is no benefit to you but there is a risk.

Dug, if it helps in this instance they were not big or bulky and none went for more than £5.

Magpiecottage, thank you. My mind is definitely made up now.

This is a VERY common practice when selling cars on ebay, which is why the insertion fees are relatively high, and the FVF's capped.

If you dont agree to cancel, and she really wants the fees back, might she claim you have not paid and try and open a dispute? I suppose its how bad she wants to cash and how sly she is.

Owt, that's kinda the reason I posted, was worried there could be resulting problems for me if I didn't really :-/
but from what others have said I don't want to.
Also, I rounded up what I paid her, so have covered the fvfs she would have been charged with that anyway, as they were low value items.
