What are they doing to my laptop!!! (warrenty repair)

I know this isnt really what you want to hear but anything could happen with your laptop once its out of your sight.

im not suggesting that it has been mistreated and broken further but it does happen, hell it could even be broken without being mistreated, power issues can cause untold problems. for example, a customer brings in his laptop complaining the battery pack is becoming too hot to sit on his lap, after taking the laptop off the gentleman and having it on the desk for no more than 10 minutes the laptop starts to lift itself up, the battery pack had blistered putting so much stress on either side of the laptop is causes a crack down the middle of the screen. which means what was a 5 minute job turned into a 2 week job.

not everything is so straight forward.

Its just that everything was working before hand, oh well seems that there is nothing I can do but sit and wait.
Why they need all that equipment like 2 hard drives and motherboards is beyond me.

Possibly because DSG are utterly incompetent when it comes to repairs?
I'm afraid there is no chance that you will get your data back, the standard DSG solution to almost any PC problem is to wipe and reinstall the OS, regardless of the symptoms.
