HSBC unused ISA vs new ISA

Hi,
I've got an old ISA with HSBC, opened a while ago. I don't use it now, have put no money into it since April and it is in fact empty!
I did try to close it but HSBC were really awkward about it, wanting to know my reasons etc. .1% rate might have had something to do with it
As a Nationwide account holder, I now want to open an ISA for this year with them.
At the risk of asking a daft question - can I simply go ahead and open this new ISA with Nationwide, and do nothing about the dormant, empty HSBC one?
Thanks all

As you have not paid into the HSBC one this tax year you can open a new ISA with whomever you choose. Just ignore the HSBC one.0 -
Ah, thanks! most kind. :T0
