Personally, i would give them the time they are asking for, hope it is good news when you get your final letterJust realised that its now nearly 6 weeks since i got the letter from the bank saying ( for the 3rd time ) that they will get back to me in the next 4 weeks.
Should i try and contact the bank for an update or is it time to go to the ombudsman,i sent the original form on 29th of july, surely there's a time limit on these things as it seems the bank are just sending out standard letters to fob people off and hope that they loose interest.
Can anyone give me a few pointers on what to do next !!

Hi there
Sorry to hear that.
You can either ring the FOS to make a complaint, they will arrange to send the form out to you, or you can download and print the complaint form from the FOS website, remember to enclose copies of any letters you sent and received and anything in relation to the account, this will save time later on, but copies only if you can.
Its difficult to predict a timescale on how long they could take, but normally as soon as they receive your complaint, you should receive confirmation that they have received it and they normally let you know when roughly you should hear from them next.
However an estimate I would say about 6 - 12 months, once passed on to an adjudicator.
But maybe earlier than that too, good luck and please keep us posted.
