One reason why we dont like to show our sites is because sometimes the niche is so unsaturated that some one could nick your keywords, and start to get sales, after youve done all the hard work.0

So basically, no-one earns enough to live on?
I won't give up my day job then!
There are a lot of people who says that they earn a substantial amount via affiliate marketing. And it's enough for them to decide to leave their jobs. While this may be true, I think it only applies to those affiliate marketers who has been doing it for a long time. And I'm sure that they have invested months if not years of hard work to get to where they are. So, if you are fairly new to this field, I don't think it will be the best idea to leave your job for it. It will just be too big of a risk to take.Mr. Mulla0 -
this is my problem.
I have the know how in terms of making a basic wordpress site, and I know enough about SEO to get high in google, but I just can't think of a decent niche!
Everyone says it's easy, but I just can't come up with anything.
Is there a site I could use for ideas anywhere?0 -
Mike,
Just start writing on subject you like. Let it flow, then to a most specific niche with in that topic.
EG if your writing about football, you could target footballing tactics rather than football as a whole (crap example but you get the idea)
When you get more experience then you can venture out.

I am sorry but that not good way to judge if affiliate marketing is viable option or not. This forum is not affiliate marketing forum, I am sure there are some here but it will not be the majority. We can lie and say we make thousands but affiliate marketer is not like mlm, where you get paid if you sponsor people, the less the competition the better for us. The only time people lie about their earning if they are trying to convince you they are guru and want to sell you information.
To check if people make money from affiliate you can Google, working from home forums, and affiliate marketing forums, there are hundreds if not thousands make a living very comfortable one.
I only started a month ago, and I am happy with my progress, if you know SEO then you understand you need time to get your site with traffic, it takes from 3-6 months if you doing it the free way. That why a lot give up, after a month and two and they scream scam.
Statics says that most blogs pick up traffic, i.e. potential customers after the third months, and also statistics says majority of people give up on blogs after 3 months, the same month that they started getting customers.
There is money to be made, and you can give up your work too but not immediately, after you make a good living from it. The great thing about it, you do not have to give up your work, while trying it, and in few months you decide if it is for you or not. To succeed you need two things, believe in yourself, and be persistence.
Oh and it is hard work, at least at the start, because there are a lot to learn, plus Google always changing the game. For example two years ago I had a blog, it was ranked 3 in Google, and I only had few articles, and basic SEO, now people have much more and do not get ranked. Ranking might not mean much nowadays but if people see you have good ranking, they tend to trust you more, plus you get sponsored to advertise in your page if you lucky.
There are great success stories but the best two for me are pro blogger, who is a millionaire from blogging but he repeats time and time it is not easy work, and he worked hard to get where he is, in fact he had two jobs, and kept his blog updated in the same time, he eventfully made it.
The second person I admire is Chris Farrell, a British guy who use to be a DJ, last year. He stumbled on internet marketing, and was getting frustrated how everything works, he also worked hard, taught himself, and you can see his old blog he did not delete it, and how he struggled. Now he makes very good living, teaching people what he learned.
These are just few examples who made it right to the top but a lot who are persistent also make good living from it. It is tiring and constant work, and learning but I love every minute of it, for example I post new post every day, getting ideas, writing original content, looking for more ideas. Then, wait for google to index it, then submit it to ezine article, as google pick them up easily, and they get a lot of traffic, after ezine accept it, I submit to other free articles directories, the more the better, trying to comment in high rank blogs, to get some back links. Learn few things every day, also contribute to forums, that work load for one article. That if it all done free, I can easily spend 12-16 hours a day but that the start, once your site in top, it does not mean you stop working but it will be less, then your site makes money while you are sleeping but if you just put a site up and wait for someone to click, it will not happen.0 -
Yes you can make money from affiliate but is not easy like everything in life. I did affiliate couple of years ago, I made money but not that much, now I am back on it. There are so many things you need to achieve to get a sale, I am not going to tell you I make thousands because I do not yet, I just started about a month ago but I made two sales, and it is reoccurring sale as it is membership based. Which mean I get paid every month as long they stay.
I will list to you the things you need to do to achieve any sale
1.Find a product from affiliate company, the biggest players are click bank and commission junction, there are others of course
2.Click bank for example will give you a sale page, your own website with your link added
3.Now it is not only you who sells that product, there are thousands others like you with exact similar page, so why people should chose yours? That what marketing get involved
4.SEO stands for search engine optimization. Basically, the reason you choose and write around good keywords, which means if customer want to buy something, and put the keyword for example lose weight in 14 days, and you are selling that product, how can you optimise your site so your site comes on top of search
5.There are many marketing techniques to get good SEO, one of them is writing articles and submitting them to free article directory.
6.Researching the keyword, you want to target
7.The list can goes on, it is huge subject
It might sounds complicated but all can be learned, and when you make a sale it is the best feeling ever. At the moment I am only concentrating on my blog, and my blog talks about this, making money from affiliate, SEO, marketing your blog, working from home jobs etc.
Affiliate is huge thing world wide, especially in the US, I visit a lot of US forums, it is really disappointing that most UK forum have no interest in affiliates and it great tool. Anyway you can check my blog in profile. Affiliate or internet marketing is huge subject, and you have to work hard to stand out from the rest.

this is my problem.

Ok there are paid services to get keyword but the free one can do, I do google keyword, it is free and does the job- Go to google and type google keyword Begin by typing in a few words you think are relevant to the people you are targeting. Often as you begin to type, Google will drop down a list of related keywords. Jot these down on a piece of paper. Keep doing this until you have 30 - 40 keywords.
- Now go into your search browser and type in each keyword with quotation marks on each end. Google will display a number below the search bar of about how many results there are for that keyword. These are how many sites with that keyword
- The Internet today is very competitive across all the different markets. But by narrowing down keywords and looking for those with high search volumes and low competition, you can quickly outrank many of the top competitors in your market.
Play with keyword tool in google it is free and will give you an idea but if you want to start, just open free blog account in blogger and learn as you go, my blog was not my main idea but it became the main one now.
Good luck0 -
Xtmc, it can all be learned, nobody was born an expert, I use to hate computers but now I know so many technical terms, I surprise myself, and when your work pays of it is amazing. The great thing most things are available for free, whenever I hear someone mention something I don't know I put it in google and I learn something new everyday.0

The problem you have with this forum is that everyone wants to make a ‘quick buck’ doing little, if any work at all for it. So everyone is trying to find a little niche method to do that and create a ‘Get Rich Quick’ scheme for themselves. Look at the number of posts in this forum from people ‘Needing to make £1000’ or ‘Need an extra income’ etc and how many views they get and you’ll see what I mean.
The problem is that the moment someone puts up any details of their niche market or what they do/sell to make loads of money, you can guarantee that many people on this forum/site (and bear in mind there will be hundreds if not thousands of lurkers included) will jump all over the idea and flood the market, causing your niche area to collapse and you to lose income.
You only have to look when Martin publishes some special offer in his weekly e-mail for some freebie et al from some company and all of a sudden, the company’s website collapses the next day with hits, or people have gone to the store and bought 100’s of the items for themselves etc and everyone complains that it isn’t fair because they couldn’t get one.
With AM, it is exactly the same. I’m dabbling with it at the moment and found what I consider to be niche areas. But why should I do all the work, setting up the websites, drawing in the customers and keeping everything running, only to have 100 other people suddenly jump on the band wagon, steal my ideas and crash my income.
I know of one friend from many years ago who now lives in luxury in the south of Spain as a result of starting off in AM many years ago. He was then asked to do some work in a certain ‘adult’ area, building and maintaining websites. He never got physically (excuse the pun) involved with it directly. People just sent him pictures and videos that they wanted up on their sites and he just put them up and maintained everything. All the membership fees came through him and he was paid a percentage of those. On the back of those sites, he was asked by others in that area to build and maintain their sites, and so it all snow-balled and created quite a tidy income for him to the extent that he now lives in the south of Spain.
There is a lot of AM information on the web if you look for it, and there are plenty of AM websites around if you look for them. But just don’t expect it all to be handed to you on a plate. As everyone on here has already said, it is hard work to make money from AM, but if you are prepared to put in the effort, you can reap the rewards.0 -
Thanks Randel, well said, it is not defiantly fast get rich scheme. It requires a lot of work, there are a lot of free materials but not everyone will do them, that why there is money to be made. I have took my blog down now from here, I am getting freaked now!0
