    But there is no need to make up a story regarding spare wheels. They aren't tested!

    The boot is a non tested item and therefore, will NOT fail an MOT test.

    The garage is probably trying to get custom, I would do some research online, and once you find the bit it states that the boot is a manual NON TESTED item for an MOT pass, print it off and take it along to the garaged.

    If this still doesn't work,walk away and use another garage - DON'T USE A COUNCIL GARAGE! - What ever anyone says on here, I think there's more than meets the eye with them!

    £50 a tyre and an MOT is hardly the end of the earth,its normal motoring costs im afraid.

    Spare wheel is underneath the car on a 206 - not that it should matter.

    Or save the time and paper and refer them to the appropriate section in the MOT testers manual (S4.1 for spares & 6.4 for the boot) as helpfully posted in post #7 above . :D

    Maybe you should start taking your car somewhere else........ Sounds like this garage has been milking you for years.

    Go to council run MOT centre's for MOTs.
