LG 42" TV, still got sound but black screen!

rockitup, I'll keep you updated on the outcome of my investigations. I haven't managed to get it sorted yet as I've been at work but it's my main priority for Saturday so watch this space!

I did pull out the 3 fuses and check them but they are fine so it's odd on that this Telly is going to be a bit on the expensive side to fix. I hope it won't need too many parts and it is a Korean made piece of kit so Korea not being too far from here.... well we'll see

We had a TV repair guy round to look at our LG Plasma and basically we use nearly everything like cable set top box, Wii, compact Hi-fi and DVD/karaoke plugged through the AV3 socker (AV Leads-red, white, yellow).

He asked if we ever use the RGB (PC) connection or any of the others on the back panel and I had an old convertor from way back which you can connect the 3 AV leads to back of a Scart plug.
Thankfully this worked fine and also tried my laptop through the RGB and that also worked in Colour.

The TV was bought in UK and is PAL system but the NTSC standard is used over here in the Philippines so that's why we have to run the cable tv set top box via the AV3 input.
