pc - pc or pc to landline with credit0 -
lee634 ,The question being asked was for free calls to China.I posted about the voipbuster because they are cheaper than Skype when it comes to phoning a landline in China.
voipbuster 1p per minute and skype 2p per minute.
Thats why I always choice voipbuster.I phone China Daily and over 10 counties weeekly and found them to be the cheapest.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
I talk to family in India and all seems ok. Sometimes clarity can be lacking but I suppose its down to the amount of users on skype at the time. I am going to be testing BT's Softphone today to see if thats better.
You can also talk over MSN Messenger. Its not quite a call but you can push the Audio button and then talk. I believe Microsoft's Netmeeting is more like a call, not sure what clarity was like as I used it ages ago.0 -
Have had it for a while now and use it for long distance talk to Australia. Decent enough quality, but it's free, so can put up with the odd bit of "crackle"!0

Yes, but Skype Hype is one of the dearer (along with Tesco) VoIP providers.
I use sister service https://www.voipstunt.com they give you free calls to China landlines, so no need to worry about the other person being on broadband or the fact China is trying to block VoIP traffic.
When I joined VoIPStunt (and the .com of VoIPCheap, VoipBuster and SIPDiscount) they issued VoIP-In numbers (I have 0121 numbers) for free, though they have recently stopped those, but you can set out going CLID to anything you wish.
I also have Sipgate which is cheaper than Skype Hype allows you to call not only Sipgate users for free, you can peer with other SIP providers, you get an incoming/outgoing number for free (Skype charge £20+VAT/year for) any area codeyou wish, call out rates are cheaper then Skype Hype, free Voice-mail and not a proprietary system, nor a P2P system. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
We call Bulgaria all the time. Most of the time it is great quality but can get poorer during peak times(6-10pm).Would definately recommend it as you are never thinking "how much is this call going to cost me?"..........Neil0

I agree with BexTech, and I probably have a similar set up, I've only recently started using VOIP but picked VOIPdiscount instead of VOIPstunt, but they are very similar. I didn't get issued with a number from them so I got a free Leeds number from Sipgate for incoming calls. I then use skype to talk to people when we are both online, as the quality pc to pc is good, and use msn for text chat.0
