Still don't understand why Toots didn't want to put me on Lurker status, so you don't have to put up with my witterings anymore.

I do (understand, that is) - 'cos you matter to all of us and we'd miss you. I look forward to your posts.
Off to finish prepping tomorrow's lunch then put some bedding on

Oops - thanks for the reminder. I have two beds in need of fresh bedding and really shouldn't leave it until bedtime.

Soappie - I love the chicks. Thanks for posting the pics.
Onestep - I'm so sorry for your loss.
Holly - glad you had a good time.

I managed 4 HHCs and a few extra bits today. Not as much as I'd hoped, but it's a start. DS2 and I went to Mr T's (not our usual haunt, but we had a voucher) and had a nice time together, chatting in the car. He shared his worries about finding the right woman to marry (an urgent issue, as he's 6) and I have no idea where that came from.

If I can get myself sorted and DS1 is back in time, I'm going to meet DH in the pub at around 10.30. So I need to:
    sort beds
    water plants
    have a bath
    start DW
find something to wear (that's the tricky one).
Hope you all have a nice and relaxing Saturday evening. x

    Tomorrow's lunch is prepped

Gammon in cherry coke cooked, just needs the glaze tomorrow alongside loading the potato skins, potato skins are cooling as we speak alongside the gammon

Then must remember to make the lemon meringue cake too in the morning, plenty of time.

Right off for a quick zoom around the bedroom flying along to complete the list

    Hugs one step xx

Ok dinner all done and cleared away (although salad with cold meats and PB bread was hardly dinner but it was what they wanted!)

Will run round the threads doing a spot of lurking (or exercise in my book :D) thenonly thing to do is a quick text to a fellow flylady and an early night I think as I have a full day tomorrow just with washing, ironing, cooking without even thinking of cleaning again!
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

    Evening all :)

Soappie - thanks I'm doing ok, those chickies are lovely!
onestep - ((hugs)) if the HD won't work maybe try a computer shop see if they can rescue them, I've had a laptop HD contents recovered before
kazm - yes we're lucky, I get stuff cheaper if it's frozen and as he only opens 2 days a week (not a fashionable farm shop he's been going 12 years at least) he freezes anything left on the Saturday afternoon. So a few bits of that was frozen chicken & sausages. Think he knows I am a bit skint @ the mo so always offers them first.

Still plodding through the kitchen but managed a couple of hours at the park after I picked the boys up, they'd had a fab time but DS2 went splat off the roundabout in the park so he has a chipped tooth, bumps & bruises...kids eh!

Going to do a bit more in the kitchen once I get the boys to bed I think. Going to take them to the airshow even if DP isn't here (left after having wobbler) , if he doesn't reappear it'll first time tomorrow on my own so a little aprehensive as it's always very busy.
One day I might be more organised...........

Onestep - big hugs your way xxx

Hex, and LW and others feeling guilty or fretting about the Piggers thing - DON'T! You've all said your bit and quite eloquently, and not at all nastily, just with a sense of concern - which is what friends do - they get concerned, they offer advice.

If someone chooses to get upset by that advice then understand (particularly if they are v. hormonal, pregnant and worried to boot!) and give them their space. Don't beat yourselves up about it.

As Crafty said: "pigpen does what pigpen does"

She's been lurking today - I've noticed her light on a couple of times - Piggers, if you're reading this... :p

Thank you all for your kind comments on the chickens. They are such fun. I chuckled often this afternoon when they were in the garden for the first time and got confused by the wind in their feathers, discovered spiders webs were tasty, fought over some small morsel of leaf debris or other that one of them found, tried tapping on a leaf from the quince bush and then withdraw quickly when it bounced back..

Best of all, it's the first evening in nigh on a month that I've not had to give the kitchen floor a good old wash and disinfect - they don't half poop - continuously!

Went to DiL's parents for dinner this evening (DiL's grandma who came to afternoon tea the other week is flying home on Wednesday so it was a goodbye sort of thing.... I really must learn Farsi - it was difficult trying to talk with the translation thing going on)

Chatted with DS - he's over for roast tomorrow evening but DiL isn't so we've negotiated. I'll pick him up at two and we'll go out and buy something like this:

    chicken coop

Though we should be able to get it a bit cheaper than that... and he'll put it all together for me in the side yard.

We did the maths and worked out that if all four hens, once they start laying, produce an egg a day and I can flog 4 half dozens a week at £1 (free range of course!) per half dozen to neighbours and friends they'll have paid the cost of the coop and their feed within about 9 months....

But, of course, the entertainment, relaxation and satisfaction value of just looking after them is priceless...
