Hi all,
We're back. I hope everyone's ok. Soappie those chicks are adorable.
We had a lovely week, the weather wasn't that great but we still did loads. The highlight of the week was when Ds2 met a Monk on Cauldy island. The conversation went like this :
Monk - Hello what's your name?
Ds2 - My name is Ds2. Are you God?
Monk - No but i love God.
Ds2 - Are you God's Wife then?
Monk - No i'm not.
Ds2 - I know, you must be Jesus then!
Monk - Well ok it was nice meeting you bye.
I was laughing so much i had to walk away and leave him with OH. People had stopped dead to listen and were all laughing.:o:rotfl::rotfl:
I'm amazed we lasted a week together, we usually come home early as we're fed up with each other but it was really nice. I have the biggest pile of washing ever though. I've put 1 load in the wm and have run the Dw again as the clean stuff has been sat inside it all week. I'm having a coffee and a rest and then i'll unpack and put Ds2 to bed.
I'm going to attempt to read a bit of the thread to see what's been going on, i hate to miss anything.:cool:0 -
hollyh - glad you had a good time - I used to love our trips over to Cauldy when I was a kid on holiday in Tenby - do the monks still make perfume and chocolate?:jFlylady and proud of it:j0

Yes they do CY and fudge. They've got a tiny chocolate factory too. It makes walking up that hill worthwhile.
Ds2 still has some raspberry ripple fudge left and it smells delicious, i wonder if he'll share.

We've kept her at a distance so far. The next step is to free range them in the garden and have BB under close control on the lead...
I was wondering that. My dear departed doggle was terrified of mum's chickens, they used to gang up and chase her clucking frantically, and she would pretend she wasn't a dog:rotfl:Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Valli~ we need photos of the kitten please.Valli, indeed, we need photos of the kitten
Lil-me - how are you doing?
Kaz - enjoy your saturday - particularly paying respect to your Mum
Piggers - my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours xxx
Lame Wolf - hope you feel better soon. In fact, I think you should drop the "lame" and just become wolf!
Not having a v good day today, head still thumping.:(
Worrying also in case I offended Pigpen. I kept out of the giving advice thing, but I did say I would send safe-arrival vibes for Squeak. I do so hope Pigpen didn't take offense and think I shouldn't butt in where I don't know anything.:(
Ah well, here's hoping you're all having a better time than I am. Still don't understand why Toots didn't want to put me on Lurker status, so you don't have to put up with my witterings anymore. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Soappie - the chicks are lovely
lil-me - hope the boys had a good day and that you managed some time for yourself. The farm shop sounds great, ours is horrendously expensive
hollyh - glad you had a good holiday
Triker - WTG on what you have done today
rach - hope you ok and get the hip pain sorted
And hope piggers is ok too
Been out and had a lovely day. DD and French student had a swim in the sea at Hunstanton and I had a paddle as it was so warm. We ate icecreams on the prom, shrimps on the beach and chips from the paper! We then went round the coast to Brancaster and I got a crab for DH and then went onto Holkham Beach which was beautiful. Finally got back about half hour ago.
DH has now gone to work for the night and I so need to get some tea for the girls, DS has decided he is going for fish and chips for him so I better see what I can find.
Back laterMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
Hi all
zero flying today. Think the loss of old girl has hit home today :-(
the hard drive on the pc has fried this afternoon, & I think I've lost all my photos of her too. Also the vet has sent a letter if condolance, which is lovely, but upset me some more. I know it's going to take a while to feel better, but I didn't expect it to hurt quite so much.
LW don't you dare stop posting!!
soappie chicks are v cute!! We thought our 2 yr old dog would go for them, but has been perfectly behaved - hope you're as lucky! When people show you who they are, believe them the first time0 -

pigpen does what pigpen does (insert shrug smilie)
I'm sure it wasn't anything you or any one of us said. Just she is always right - even when she is wrong
And you do not witter.0 -

I am blubbing at this now. I'm so sorry for your loss, I hadn't picked up that you had let her go.
Our vet sent a condolence card too. Cuddle your younger dog, and think of the happy times. Hugs. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Lamewolf - don't be daft - if you stop so will I.
At the end of the day Pigpen chose to post her symptoms on a mutual support cleaning thread. She has been posting on here for years, long before she took over as lead and she knows the reaction she will get regardless of current members, and clearly appreciates peoples concern or she wouldn't post her issues. I don't like people worrying about me so I don't post when I have problems - that is my choice. It is comforting to know that if I did people would mind and help, even if they are relative newbies. I think if anyone offended Pigpen it was me by suggesting if she doesn't like the reaction (or in her fairy nuff opinion over-reaction) then she simply shouldn't say what is happening. You post an issue on here we all know the suport and reaction you will get - it is one of the joys of the thread.
Apologies if this doesn't read well, it isnt a criticism of anyone - I don't have Soappie or JoJos way with words and I am prone to bluntness so I apologise if I am offending anyone.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0
