Aww thank you LameWolf, Toottifrootti and Sarahshatterd - I actually nearly cried reading those posts x It feels so safe in here - some of the other threads are terrible!
I'm getting there with wedding plans - almost finished but had a bit of a shock when my contract in work ended at the end of June :( Was expecting it to be extended - there's about 15 of us in the same position and we have to re-apply for our own jobs :(
Oh well - may be a career change is in order?
Hope everyone is well today :)
Going to try and pop on here at least once a day and not be such a lurker :)
Thank you for always welcoming me and everyone else, so appreciated :)
    Jenny xx

    Banana Cake
    3 large ripe bananas
    2 1/2 oz margarine
    4 oz brown sugar
    10 oz self raising flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1tsp vanilla essence
    3 fl oz milk

    1) Mash the bananas in a bowl with a fork, then blend in the margarine and sugar with a wooden spoon.
    2) Stir in the flour and baking powder a little at a time, then add milk and vanilla essence.
    3) Pour into a lined/greased 2lb loaf tin and cook for about 60 minutes at 180ºC/350ºF until cooked through and golden brown on top.
    4) Leave it in the tin to cool for a few minutes before turning out.

I have some black bananas in the freezer! I save them if they go too black to eat. They look disgusting in the freezer but are ideal for banana cake. If my back eases up a bit I will make some cake and some rhubarb chutney at the weekend. I am up and walking about (carefully) today:D

Toots I hope your scan has gone well. Thinking of you

Have spent most of the morning on the phone to the council being shoved from one person to another and all to try and find out what is happening about the double glazing they are supposed to be putting in my home later this year I only know it was supposed to be done then as they refused me permission to pay for my son's bedroom window to be changed to a double glazed one, I need it done in his room as the only way you can put a single bed is under the window. Know I am being told it won't be done until next year so I explain that I really need this done asap in my son's room(not worried about the rest of the house) so I asked if they would re consider and let me pay to get my sons done know and get told no they wont give me permission:mad: I did point out the adaptions team had been and assesed my home and if they want to verify that my son has additional needs but if they would like to verify them then I will happily email his paed giving permission for them to disclose what ever information the housing need the lady tells me she will see what they can do anf get back in touch.
She has just rung back to say they wont give me permission to change it myself as even if I was to do that they would still have to change it when they do the rest of the house???????? So now she has spoken to the inspector to see if they can get my house done any quicker I only want DS's room done and am willing to pay for it.
Is it me or are they just not listening:mad::mad:

    Sorry rant over:(

All done for today; have decluttered some calories on the Wii, and now decluttering a few grapes. I'm resisting the temptation to do tomorrow's list today, because a) I'll use too many spoons and feel unwell by this evening and b) I'll have no motivation to even get out of bed tomorrow if I've no list to do. Yes, sure, I have tasks I could do, but I have a real problem with cba syndrome at present; and as they're all for "my" benefit, (such as making a kaftan, repairing my quartz and haematite anklet that wants restringing, that sort of thing), they're just not getting done at all. Yep, major cba syndrome here.:(
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    :hello:Hi everyone! I'm on holiday!!!:D:D:D

Flying wise, we've flung no end of stuff at school, and that's quite enough for today.

:hello:Hi Jennyjewell, nice to see you back again.

Too tired to do anything except leaf through a book and watch trashy TV. Back flying tomorrow I think.

    Love and hugs.

mummyslittleboy, i'd go see your local MP and get him/her on the ball. This is really silly of the council. Ya would think they would be glad.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Bathroom cleaned to perfection. BUT I then bought a pot of paint and started pulling the wallpaper off so it is now a clean mess. Still the kids are happy legitimately wrecking the joint for me. There is a limit to the amount of wallpaper any one person can pull off so they will probably get bored fairly soon. Kids..kids.. oh they've gone!

DH doesn't like the colour of paint I got and must admit that it is not quite what I was expecting so may have to do something a bit 80's and rag roll over the top of it or something.

Thanks to FCC for the inspiration. Hope Toots and Pigpen are on tip top form again soon
