There's a fairly good range of fruit and veg at our local spar, and it was great when it was refurbished because they hadn't got the ordering sorted out for about a month, so there was heavily discounted fruit and veg most days
Also we have Indian and Turkish shops which sell fresh produce - the bloke round the corner makes his own sausages (lamb/mutton ones) Usually the offers in the chains tend to be on processed stuff though, and chocolate biscuits etc.
If people choose to live that way, the processed food roure, I suppose it's like smoking, I don't like it, I wouldn't do it and I begrudge society having to pick up the pieces afterwards. There should be a 'fat tax' on ready meals.
It also suits the government when people say 'you can't afford to live on benefits' they don't WANT anyone to admit you can feed your family for £20 to £30 a week using fresh produce. Its always govt ministers who say 'poor people' can't afford fresh food. Really partonising and really angered me when I was on benefits.
The sandwich culture is just as bad, I look at readymade sandwiches and think how many I could make for that price!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!
