Probably said that ready meals are high in fat, salt and sugar and are shoddily prepared, so probably not hygenic. Oh and the plastic packaging probably leaches into the food. My guess anyway.

  • it mainly concentrated on the high levels of fat and salt...i thought it would have said about the un written ingrediants...

    Mortgage-free Glee!
It was quite shocking how the families reacted, the healthy eating family noticed a change immediatley, the children after a few days said it tasted all the same, plasiticy......

Whilst the ready meal family (she had not cooked a meal so it said in 19 years{with a kitchen to die fo}) took a bit longer to adapt..... mainly coz mum, who did the cooking, had not cooked before! For example...she slice the brocolli and hated the mess it all made, how ever she said she was never going back!!!

    good for her

Up until a month ago I was mr lazy, but since I've moved into my own flat I've started to really enjoy cooking. There's something really satisfying about, say, chopping up some carrots and steaming them, and then knowing that it's a basic, healthy foodstuff, not fatty fatty processed crap.

Ooh lets see... they taste like s***+ and they are small portions!
Funny thing is a friend phoned this evening and bemoaned the fact she didnt feel like eating bcos her ready meal was too salty
I worked in a crisp factory once. I don't know how people think food SHOULD be mass produced, but it is far from the 'men-in-white-coats-all-with-gloves-on' scenario. If people haven't figured out that not making the food you eat yourself is a bad thing, then more fool them. The government doesnt need healthy people, we would all live too long and cost the NHS/benefits system.
