With anything food related you see it differently once you have worked on the serving/production side. I worked in bars too and I would not drink beer at rock concerts having worked at a large outdoor event...Also I know what to look for in bars and it is shocking how many people serve drinks incorrectly, makes me wonder if anyone is really properly trained anymore.
You would think that brand new cloths and gloves are used when the production line of crisps is cleaned, wouldn't you, and you would imagine them to be cleaned HOW often???;)Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

It boils down to a couple of things
1) People are lazy
2) people don't how to cook
3) People can't be beothered
Cooking is not rocket science.
I am shocked when I see people shopping. The other day I was in a supermarket and there was family and they where buying these lunchables. And I was like  do they not have home and cheese and crackers at home.
I know of people who moan about having no money and then they buy sandwiches everyday and ready meals.
It has been proven that eating a basic diet of meat and veg in various ways rather than processed food and squash and fizzy drinks have a remarkable effect on the behaviour. This has been proven in prison where the inmates are less violent.

Most of the food in the supermarket is repulsive. I much prefer the fruit and veg, dairy, bread (brown) and meat section.
We used to live on the ready meals and when I do have one on occasion, I gag nowAn average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I have noticed that it is getting harder to find "real food" in the supermarket as everything is value added/ processed/ ready chopped. They seem to be hiding the normal stuff“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

My local small supermarket is small but its been changing over the past year or so , to a more convenience type store, is this because of the large supermarket at the edge of town???
Although there is a fresh fruit veggie stand the baking stuff is now down to 3 or 4 foot wide. That includes sugar, {all varieties}flour eggs, sultanas etc There is a larger space for cocacola !!! So its not just a case of it being hidden!! Perhaps the long term plan is decreasing to point of extinction!
I despair at times!0 -

That's so true of the Sainsburys Local near my house. I was quite excited when it opened. I thought it would be really useful for top up shopping - particularly for fruit/veg/salad items which are either weary or non existent at the corner shop. However, about 3/4 of this Sainsburys is taken up by crisps, sweets, drinks and ready mealsIt's annoying because we've already got a good off licence and a corner shop which is even better stocked with crisps etc. We don't need more of this stuff - we need a bigger fruit and veg section! Even more annoying, they're always having 'special offers' on the fruit which are nothing special at all - 2 for the price of one on strawberries and mangoes which are so manky I sometimes think that they've been delivered to the shop by accident when they should have been taken to the dump.

It might take us a bit longer to cook but i think its much quicker to shop. I walk along the sell fruit & veg ailse, the meat ailse, dried foods (pasta, rice, burghal) and the dairy ailse. The rest of our huga asda is pointless to me. Sure this must save a bit of time.
Looking on the bright side i have noticed more people are bring home made lunch into work these days. Some still rush out to the sandwich man (usually the lower paid oddly enough) but the rest of us are on leftovers, cheese on toast etc. Its a move in the right direction i think.....another happy bug.........sorry,blogger embracing the simple life0
