It wasn't long ago the music industry didnt push digital distribution so people ended up using Napster, it was only after some years they started to realise many people prefer to have music in digital form and later they embraced it, but the damage was already done people got use to free music/movieswell thats not going to happen

its the same with so many parts of this modern age
companies are pushing for digital distribution
as the ISP's bring in traffic management
we get all new mobiles with loads of online features and the networks cut data allowances
thoughi have noticed more companies doing blurays with digital copies included0 -
the thing is,i truly believe pricing aids piracy
i know there are some who will download it for free regardless but if media is priced realistically then more would buy new
MW2 was a good example
when released it was about £24 and i bought it in its 1st week of release
usually i would wait for it to go to that sort of price 2nd hand
i look out for low prices on blurays too (yes im tight)
HD is(could be) a gift to the film companies
people will pay for the bluray to get the best from their new HD TV's
im a bit geeky but my OH isnt that fussed
however she now see's the benefit of watching a bluray in sound and picture quality
so she will pay for the bluray version of a film over DVD
however the film companies still try and cream money out with poor quality releases and the likes of LOTR and holding back on the extended BR versions0 -

MAC addresses are even easier to spoof than IP addresses. I just had a look in my router and I can set its MAC to whatever I like. A MAC address by itself would prove nothing.
EDIT:
It looks like ACS:Law are being investigated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for their "bullying tactics". This could result in a disciplinary trial...

Blue-ray is a rip off, yes its often better quality like you said but its just another media where film companies much like they did with dvd from vhs charge a premium for the pleasure of owning better quality when the media itself doesn't costs much more.the thing is,i truly believe pricing aids piracy

Yes it's genuine DCF.
This one is from a firm called Gallant MacMillan.
As usual with these people, others jump on the band wagon when they see £££££'s.

Spot on custardy.
In the past I have bought games that cost a fortune and claim to be fantastic only to find they are rubbish and unlike a watch that doesn't keep time or a toaster that doesn't brown your bread you can't take it back.
Many people download games, try them out and if they are good they buy them, if they are junk they delete them.
Seems fair to me, how come they can rip us off but then bleat when it happens to them?

According to some, it would hurt their profits as it is reducing their potential customer base. However, that only holds true for crap. If they were making a quality product, people would pay for it.
Basically any argument can be used for and against. Downloading first to try it out may discourage some from buying it, but it will also encourage others.
For films, theres always the option like Cineworld offer. £13.50 a month and you can go see as many films as you like
At todays film prices, basically as long as you see 2 films a month, you've got money worth.
Of course having one of the above cards means you go and see any old crap when you're bored - i know from experience :rotfl: However it does mean you also give other films a chance. Films you normally wouldnt pay to see as they dont seem that good from the trailers but turn out to be suprising in a nice way.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
