How much is the fine if you are caught with out insurance ?

not worth it because you get 6 point and a fine and then you can never get insurance again (or at least not for a reasonable amount of money)

Whatever it is, it won't be nearly enough. In addition to the fine they can crush the vehicle. Bear in mind that the rest of us pay an extra £40 a year on our insurance to cover the costs of accidents caused by people who drive without insurance.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

The fine will be 400 pounds or thereabouts. Given the huge number of ANPR cameras in towns, if your commuting it wouldn't take a lot to get caught and no insurance invariably means no tax or MoT too in the long run so chuck up a couple hundred quid more for them too. Car taken off you and not released until fee paid and insurance on it.

The points to new driver would mean licence revoked, new driving test too.

I was wondering why they never seem that bothered on Police interceptors when they catch them, maybe it's just bravdo for the camera or that they've done it that many times before getting caught one more time will make no difference. I didn't think that they needed ANPR cameras and just looked for Escorts with the bumper hanging off !

It's no wonder there are so many uninsured drivers.

Get the 18 year old to do a pass plus or an advanced motoring test. The second one especially knocks a fair bit off. I take it this is an 18 year old male? Apparently insurance companies are exempt from rules about equality!
