Want to use my phone abroad..

I would like to use my phone from Gibralter and Spain next month but I have no idea how to find out if my phone can be used abroad.. or what I have to do to make it happen...its a Samsung U600 I am on T-mobile payasyougo... can anyone help this dumb person out ...... thanks..
