Invitation from Vanquis....

Hi all.

Just come back from holiday and saw a letter from Vanquis bank offering me a priority invitation for their card with new British card designs.

Needless to say I don't need one but wondered how one comes about credit card "spam". Is it just a scan of the electoral roll for people living their that meet a minimum criteria (i.e age) or whether they have any sort of credit knowledge from other lenders or CRA's?

Only interested to know if it is an indication my credit rating might be good enough to justify sending this crap for.

Many thanks.

    It is simply mass mailing.
Your credit files would have to be pretty crap for you to want one!

It's a card to build up credit history with, if you pay in full then no problems, as the apr is pretty high:eek: I believe using the Vanquis card has now helped me get a 'prime' card;)

They keep "inviting" me too - even though I already have 2 credit cards whose combined APR still aren't as high :rotfl:

No, I have a good rating and I applied for one and got accepted.

    £30.30 cashback, lovely ..... http://www.topcashback.co.uk/vanquis_credit_card/

I'll sent it back when I get the cashback in the bank!

It's the first card I've appplied for in 2 years.

I alos applied for capital one 1% cashback on all spends card for £18 cashback. I'll use this to replace egg money when Barclaycard destroy it.

Again, accepted with £18 cashback, enough to pay the first year's fee.

    £18.18 cashback ..... http://www.topcashback.co.uk/capital-one-world-mastercard/
