The offer from Currys was in my opinion very reasonable."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

You guys may be happy to accept a damaged TV but I wasn't.
You seem to be suffering from selective reading, as I don't think anyone said that.
The offer of a reduction in price or full refund is MORE than generous, and perfectly adequate, so I think you're being unreasonable.
Personally I'd take the further reduction, as a scratch wouldn't bother me, particularly if I got a bargain, but if you're not happy with that, then just accept the full refund.
It's not like they did it deliberately!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Correct, just consider it bad luck; either except the TV with the damage for a discount, get a full refund, or use the discount of another TV. Curry's are being more than fair and abiding by your legal rights.
I know how you feel, I've been in a similar position (loss of bargain) and the best I was offered was a refund and no apology, so you're doing better than I got!0 -
Well done to Currys for excellent customer service.

Can someone tell me please if an item is sold as clearance, sold as seen with no return stated, do you have any consumer rights to return the item?(just curious)0

While it may have a bearing on a private sale. I believe in business sales, it wouldnt stand up in court. A business cannot remove or restrict your consumer rights below your entitlement, regardless what they proclaim. "Sold as seen" would have to be something that would be found during a visual inspection.
However, if you buy a damanged item and are made aware of the fault/damage at time of sale you cannot return it based on that fault BUT if a new fault were to become apparent, you would be able to use SOGA for this. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Currys have offered you your money back - why not take the money and buy another TV somewhere else??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

why didnt you take it away that day?0

They have to by law put you in the same position or better than when you bought the item, so a refund is entirely fair. The fact it was a bargain has no bearing on this what so ever.
Im sure if you got a refund you could get a similar TV on ebay for the same price and with the knowledge it's probably been cared for more.0
