RENTING only.....

I am looking at the following areas to move too within the next 2 months from Ireland for work. There are hundreds of estate agents and i thought there must be some idea on here of who is worthwhile as an estate agent and who is not.

Also if anyone has any advice about these areas in general i would also like that.

New Malden

West Byfleet

Berrylands

Weybridge

It can be very hit and miss. One branch of a chain can be good another can be bad. For selling go chat with the local ones in the office and see who you get the best feelings for. For buying you obviously can't restrict yourself to only one estate agent because you won't get access to the whole of the local market in the area you are looking for. Right move always seemed to be the best site for searching for me.

    Does it matter?

You're not hiring them to sell for you, you'll be buying from them...... I think

This could happen with anyone so all you can do is try to minimise the risk by finding a well-established and reputable company - preferably someone who's a member of ARLA - do a search for the area you're after on here and give them a call to check what their reference requirements are, how much they'll charge for referencing etc:

If Sunhil Dhownes of IRD Homes operates there, I would suggest not using him though I am sure they are really an excellent estate agent if you google them :)
