Hello fellow savers,
I've been with o2 line adv since my initial contract expired, around 1999.
Here's how to negotiate a better deal and STILL stay on line advance.
What I did...
1. Initially rang o2 Line advance - was quoted £99.99 for 600 offpeak leisure mins. I complained that this wasn't copetititve since e2save and others can get me a better deal with free texts...etc... The guy was really unhelpful...wouldn't budge a penny on the deal, on price or inclusive mins...
I told him I was going to go elsewhere to get a better deal...
2. So, I rang o2 retentions (option from o2 customer service). Dial 100 for free.
Girl in Cust Services, very helpful when I explained I'd been a loyal customer/blah blah...
I managed to get (without too much convincing)...
- 200 free texts per month!
- 30 anytime any network mins p/mth (loyalty mins)!
- dropped the price to £89 for the year !
Hence, I definately recommend going to o2 retentions for renewal since they're able to do more!

I am also on line advance 600 minutes off peak. Phone upgrade and said I want to keep the 600mins and was quoted £99. So I said I do not need a phone and they credit me £100 so they pay me £1 to stay on the contract for the year.0 -
That's a good deal too.
I prefer to get the upgrade, since it's value outweighs the £100. For example, quoted a Nokia 6111 pink - sells upto £149.99...or Sony Ericssion K610i (just released) from £130+.
