Hi - I know there is a no client name policy here but what if the client is completely open about the mystery shopping it has and the company it uses? I've just seen an article in Retail Week magazine featuring Sainsbury's and the work done for it by ABa QM - an in-depth article about how precisely the mystery shopping is done and open to all to read. It can be read on line if you are a subscriber - although a careful google search will bring up the article direct.

I wouldn't say that necessarily. It touches on what any MS'ing company who holds a contract for a supermarket would ask you to check on. The actual shops and reporting system are far more comprehensive than it talks about.

I also wouldn't say it's open to all to read. Unless you're specifically googling the key words then it would be quite difficult to find.

Yeah, happened the other day and she said they were training a new gir and they shouldn't have been given to me. Happened again snce though. Bit silly really as i list them all to keep track of.

The article is extremely easy to find! Along with another one in another publication.

The whole reason for client confidentiality is (I believe) to prevent other mystery shopping companies from poaching clients.

Some mystery shopping companies openly list their clients on their own websites. Some clients give details of the company they use for their mystery shopping programme on their websites.

The clues/code names given when describing assignments on this (and other m/s forums) are so pointless, you might as well name the client if you're going to give any clue.

Sending private messages to one another is just as much a breach of confidentiality as naming them on this thread.

If think in some cases we have little choice. Some of the companies are so bad at communicating with their shoppers this forum is the only place you will get an answer if you have a question. I have seen it happen on a regular basis.

And in fairness, i don't think this information is top secret. If a MS company was to telephone a business. Say we would like to make an offer to supply your MS program, may we please know who you use now i very much doubt they wouldn't get an answer. The client will always look for a better deal.

I believe the hush hush is mainly to stop this thread being shut down. If we're shown to be breaking rules in terms of naming clients when we've agreed that we won't then the companies can complain to the forum team and they will close the thread.

    Hi CROCS :D
How Naïve is that;) Any MS company worth its salt can easily find out what their competitors offer.

True:- So if it was THAT important why don't the MS companies close down all the threads....

In a perfect world probably. In a Ms world:= Hardly

You need to get out morec:cool:
