Just completed a mystery shop for a well known pizza chain (with GAP). It's a last minute job so GAP offered to put an extra £x.xx in my account.

Just ordered it all and it came to £xx.xx but everything I ordered (1 pizza and 2 sides) was in a deal for £xx.xx so he dropped the price to that. I could hardly say 'no give it me for £xx.xx' but worried that GAP won't process my report if I had a deal! This happened to anyone before?

    Thanks,

    Jensmile

Just make a note of it in the comments section at the end - say he offered you a deal and it would have looked suspicious to decline, so you accepted. It should be fine, most of us have had that happen at one time or another.

the job is also in my payments for 10/08. have they realised it was a silly question and put it due to pay anyway, otherwise it would still be in pending, right? :S

Just ordered it all and it came to £18.00 but everything I ordered (1 pizza and 2 sides) was in a deal for £12.99 so he dropped the price to that. I could hardly say 'no give it me for £18.00' but worried that GAP won't process my report if I had a deal! This happened to anyone before?

You'll be fine! Just explain in the notes that it's what happened and that it would be suspicious to not accept. I haven't had it happen myself, but others have reported that they have been paid in the same situation.

Thanks! At mine you don't get a receipt unless you ask on ordering, so I already sounded a little suspicious! Didn't want to then say 'don't worry, i'll pay £18.00 instead!'

  • arent we not meant to be mentioning fees/costs? :S

To be honest, discussing how much extra you manage to get off someone is less problematic for a company than their standard fees being discussed openly (and it's gap, we hate them) - it's more someone shooting themselves in the foot by giving away what they have managed to get. I certainly wouldn't dream of telling you lot what I can squeeze out of companies in extra fees :)

This seems to happen to me all the time when I order - well they say that if I order another side it will be cheaper than the one Pizza and side I have ordered - and I have never had it queried (including the one time I forgot to explain it in the comments box at all )

Has anyone had a payment in from retail active. I have had a faster payment made this afternoon, and not sure who it is from. It is not the right amount either if it is. Someone said they pay on a friday.

Just explain in the notes what happened and you'll probably be ok.

Becles, maybe one for the FAQ?
