I don't see why we should ban RE from the alerts thread. Yes, I know that they do upload a lot at night, so I never bother to check their site during the day, which means that when they DO upload during the day, and some kind person posts an Alert, I get to know about them.
I think the GOLDEN RULE for the Alert Thread is that it's for notifying when companies have released a new wave of jobs, NOT for an individual to say they've just released a burger job in Bolton , a pizza in Padstow or a supermarket in Sudbury! We’ve had to remove your signature. TG - Can you update the OP of the Alerts Thread accordingly? I agree with your GOLDEN RULE, and I'm sure that many others would too. I feel that many 'Newbies' are trying to be helpful and 'join in' by posting such alerts, and then take umbrage when they are 'attacked' on the main thread. Many of the newbies do read the OP's (well some of them at least!) and better guidance may clear this up once and for all.
The worst offence is 'chat' on the alerts thread.
At least the SPAM seems to have calmed down recently. (Hope I haven't spoken too soon).0 -

That's cool. But what about an alert I posted yesterday? I said ESA OPTICIANS and ATTRACTIONS, but these were only down South and Birmingham. Does that it mean it's wrong for me to post an alert on them as well as I don't think they do these vists anywhere else apart from down South and Birmingham.0 -

Why would not banning them change anything?!?!0 -

I updated the OP on the alerts thread a couple of days ago. I've also posted a quote from it just now, as i know that most people who use the alerts thread don't use this thread (but that's another problem entirely that I see no feasible way of putting right)0 -

No, I can't change it, 'cos UKM started it, LOL!!! I did just PM him and ask him to change it though which he has done already. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

That's fine. Opticians and attranctions down South and Birmingham covers a lot of people and a wide area. One pet store released in Penzance doesnt! We’ve had to remove your signature.
