So it was you taking all the jewellery audits! I had one, and then about 20 visit closed notifications *shakes fist*

I only ever did 1 jewellery shop, and that was the easiest visit ever. Shame they don't have them anymore. But with the new allocators, I doubt I will ever get anything! Bring back Lisa!

Currently I’m lone parent, self-employed ( freelance interpreter ) with lack of assignments, have son almost 3 year old, who is still not eligible for the 15 hours ( free ) Early Education.

I started when my youngest son was 3 and I was a single parent. At the moment you'll be limited to what you can do as some jobs state you must go alone.

Once he gets into nursery and then into school you'll have more options available so you can start building up good relationships with companies now where you can. I found it easier once mine were in full time school and I could plan days better.

A big plus side is the flexibility of the work. You'll be able to take time off in the holidays with him and you'll be able to work around things like school assemblies and sports days.

Travelling depends on where you live. I'm in a rural village and have managed on buses when my car was in the garage but it was a bit of a nightmare as the journey took forever! If you live in a city, I imagine it will be easier to use public transport.
Here I go again on my own....

I started MS in about April properly, I am only just starting out and therefore at the beginning of each month I write in my diary how much I want to earn. It is normally between £25.00 and £40.00. I accept that it is going to take time to build up any relationship with companies but if you prove yourself they do contact you to do shops. I have done some supershopper jobs (how I don't know) already (but to be honest find them hard work because I am not confident enough). I read this forum for a long long time before taking the plunge and some members just ooze confidence (jealous) but they are very very helpful and will help you build up your work and confidence by their tips. Sometimes I find that there are never ever any jobs going in my area because my fingers are not quick enough, other times there are several jobs if you log onto the websites enough times. I have just picked up three from one company in a matter of minutes. I am waiting for the sacking email from Gap but when it comes will brush myself down and carry on. I keep meaning to apply for other companies but have never got around to it. However I do also work at my other job which means I miss job opportunities and do not necessary have the time to complete jobs. My other job is intense and full on and sometimes it is hard to switch off to MS mode! Just take your time and build on experience month after month. I still feel very very guilty if I have to release a job!
No Matter what you do there will be critics.
  • At least you saw some in your area! They all seemed to be North of the border - none down here!

    I cant see them either.

I've applied for six coffee shop's in Devon, still waiting for them to accepted!

I'm keen to get more auditing work. I do some for the company no-one is allowed to mention, but struggling to find the names of similar firms. I'd be grateful if anyone could please pm me the names of similar firms where I could apply for auditing work.

    Thanks

Not too sure if it's just me being a bit blind, but on GfK, how can I see a list of jobs that I've completed? If at all??? Ta
