Yeah that has happened to me as well, however I have some memory of this happening before just after the date changed and it sorted itself out... or am I just being hopeful with RE....
  • lol just noticed the cheap RE pubs are copying the strong coffees

Those coffees are evil. I have to do them before noon, any later and i'm practically doing a nightshift.
  • Actually (pedantsrus) it is one space after any other punctuation except a full stop where it is two spaces- full stops are very special you see :)

Two spaces following a full stop is correct. However a bit of useless trivia (and probably the reason most of us only use one, myself included) is that word processing applications ie Word automatically make a single space following a full stop appear larger for you anyway :)

I'm not sure if GfK's system does or does not but if they're requesting two manual spaces I would surmise it doesn't :D

That's a very VERY old fashioned way of typing, and actually comes from the early days of the printed word, whrn two spaces were used to make it clearer that there was a full stop.

These days it's generally accepted (certainly only, and generally in the press industry) that one space should be used.

Tell them that it's not the 1960's!

Well that makes me very VERY old fashioned cos I always use 2 spaces after a full stop. Even when texting!!!

I think I'd probably use 2 after an exclamation mark or question mark as well.

Well I've learnt something new then with regards to spacing after full stops!
Will just have to be extra careful next time! It really is all about the little details with MSing isn't it!

Right, off to get on with all the things I was meant to do last night had the reports not taken me 4 times longer than I thought they would!

Me too, and i'm (very late) 20's. And have never had a typing class come to think of it (Although did study business).

Can't say I go as far as exclamation marks or question marks though.

I've never done a hotel for RE but do you get hotel points or something? And what are they worth?

You are specifically told NOT to.

    However as there's:

    1 No fee
    2.147 questions!
    3. The re-imbursement may not cover the spend
4..Single mid week visits are the norm and even when you CAN take two the re-imbusrement is only for ONE.

The only perk is to get the points and it can be done

I can't see the appeal in staying at a hotel room for the night working on a report for no fee. Sounds boring. I'd understand if it was a profitable exercise but I can't understand why everyone wants to do it.
