*Must get off Money Saving Expert and get on with things*

I have 3 reports that need typing up, and lots of tidying up to do here aswell! Am not looking forward to doing the reports. Got 2 RE pubs for the same chain, so the same 9 page questionnaire for them both ZzzzzZzzzzz!
And just got off a bank call for GfK which I thought would be really straightforward and the questionnaire was pretty simple looking etc and it seemed like the conversation would be pretty scripted and standard. But no, this guy didn't really say any of the things that the notes said he might say!! And the questionnaire stated how important it was to get his name, but he said it right at the start but I couldn't understand what he said, and ignored me twice when I asked him to repeat it. Subtly tried to ask mid conversation but he just ignored me and carried on wittering on about something quite irrelevant. And when I asked yet again at the end, giving the excuse for asking that if I wanted to go ahead with the account I could phone back and talk to the same person as it would be easier, but was just told No, you can't choose who to talk to. Of course I knew this, but I NEED TO KNOW YOUR STUPID NAME!!!!! :@
So if I'm going to give an honest evaluation, it will be much more confusing than it should have been!! Grrrrrrrrrrr.
Should have done that phone call before the pubs I think, need a sodding drink now! :D

  • Evening. Wanting to know what the reports are like for the Bare car circuit jobs? Hubby fancies doing one as he is enjoying his MSing. Only problem is that he is the world's slowest typer..... would the Bare report have him typing till midnight, or is it not too long-winded?

    Thanks :)

If you want a 9 or 10 then yeah it's going to be a lot of typing... They want a full account of what was offered and what you said to get them to discount and the salespersons responses.

Most of it is just tick boxes and amounts but there is a big narrative at the end.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long it normally takes to get reimbursed for CHG? Is it normal to wait longer than two months?

    No.

Once the hotel "sign off" the report (usually after about 7-10 days) your hotel bill gets reversed from your credit card.

The expenses and fee get paid by CHG the following month.

Never had that problem with them.

Had some other issues though

PM me if you want more details.

I found a job in my ESA box today I hadn't applied for-Wouldn't let me go into it fully but definitely showed as allocated.

I rang them and their system showed it allocated to another shopper in my area-pity as it was a decent fee and I actually need an eye test. They couldn't explain what happened though.

There is indeed. We are a lovely bunch.

..... but you leave all the Newmarket, BStE, Haverhill and Sudbury jobs kicking around for me to receive the begging phone calls .... and I'm not even in Suffolk!!!

I will happily let desperate-2-b-debt-free have some of those.:D

    Question on Tax:

Not strictly MS either but I know some lovely accountants frequent this thread :D

I do supply teaching. I was charged tax the last few times, so I rang the council payroll office to find out what to do as I'm below the income threshold to pay tax.

They told me that the months where my pay is over £540 (or some figure like that), I have to pay tax as people get a monthly tax allowance, not a yearly one.

Is this right?! If so, does not compute

This is correct, your annual personal allowance 6475, so if you break it down you can either earn £124.00 per week before tax or £540 per month before you pay any tax. (Depending on the pay frequency of your employer). If you earn say £600 one month you'llpay tax if you earn say £400 the next month you'll be refunded any tax you paid incorrectly the last month based on your cumulative income up until that point of the tax year.

It is right, the info you've been given - believe me I work in the PAYE section of HMRC.

Just at the end of the GfK telephone bank enquiry questionnaire, and I remember that in the notes it says to use 2 spaces after a full stop. AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!

As you may have guessed, I've only been using ONE!! Like normal people. Grrrr!

I have been losing points on React as I have been forgetting to use quotation marks on things people are saying, got 10/10 on my last report. On the other side though I always use 2 spaces after a full stop as it was how I was taught to type oh about 22 odd years ago.

:o I've never heard of the 2 spaces thing! I feel very improper now.
Lol - appologies then for indirectly referring to you in my last post as Not Normal!
Although I do notice there is only 1 space after your full stop in this post!! :D
In my defence, I wasn't born 22 years ago so...! Or should that be . . . !!

Thank you though, I will be sure to check for quotation marks whilst I'm going back doing all my extra spacing!
