  • :(- charming, GAP have got rid of me, I'd only done one assignment, Not sure it's worth doing it if there's no GAP jobs, I'm gutted!

I honestly can't think what I did wrong, although I think my second timing may have been a few seconds out as I struggled to reset my timer. I've done 2 for react now and got one 9/10 and one 10/10, so surely I can't be that bad! I can't even email as they've deleted my account!

Oh well, I'll sign up with a few more perhaps, then may look into doing some phone work. Does anyone else think it's worth doing without GAP jobs? I'm in SE London/ NW Kent area.

Me too. I'm in Erith where are you?

I've only just started doing this, so it's not that I relied on GAP as such, just that they seemed to have a lot of very local jobs that would have been really easy to fit it around shopping trips./ the kids etc (I've got 6 of the little bleeders ;))

Possibly a good thing then, as the burgers on Gap do not allow you to take anyone with you anyway, especially children.
Just make sure you keep a look out for jobs which specify not taking children, as there are some, although I've found I haven't really had any issues with it, there have only been a couple I've not been able to accept because I would have been on my own with DS. I've taken him on some as I know that he's quite a contented little bub, and lots of the assignments say you can take kids etc as long as you are not distracted during the job.
6 of the little things might be a bit distracing though!! :D

I've got my first RE job today, an underground sandwich one, paranoid now though!! Any tips?

Feel slightly better knowing that I'm not the only one to be fired by GAP :D

Think of your waistline! The lack of fastfood is good for you haha.

Gap don't have as many clients as they used to, so the loss isn't huge really. Also the fees you'll get from other companies are usually twice that of gap (re is the exception of course with their peanuts). So for every 2 jobs you might have done with gap, just one with another company will cover it and you won't get fat!

TG, I'm in Dartford, so not too far. I'm in the process of moving to Canterbury at the moment though, so am hoping there's as many jobs down that way as well.

I did notice the burger jobs said you have to be alone which I found a bit weird. Luckily, most of my little, er, darlings are at school, so am hoping to do most jobs then, or evenings/ weekends.

I find it quite disturbing to realise HOW relieved I am to find GAP do this quite often, I. sure my confidence used to be much more resilient than that :D

Ah, that's the spirit, nothing like a bit of optimism to cheer this old bag up.:D

I was a bit worried that I'd have to start saving anything I did earn towards a gastric band and some clearasil ;)

Am off for my first underground sandwich shop in a mo, I'm assuming I can take someone with me as I haven't read anything to the contrary, I'll get him to order separately though.
  • It's been such a slow month for me. Just done one telephone call today and two last week and I've been on holiday. The problem is I think I've done every possible job in my town lol

Oh well, I bet you next month will be really busy when I'm back at work.

I'm just applying for CRI, but I must be being really thick or something but I can't seem to get the test right. Probably doesn't help that I'm full of cold and my head is buzzing. If anyone can help please, please PM me :)

(Just off to work for an hour, so please don't think I'm ignoring you if you do PM)
Moving onto a better place...Ciao
  • I used to do jobs for Gap a couple of years ago but had to stop when DD was born (only did about 3 or so). Thought I ought to reapply as my details were so old and change of ISP meant old email addy obsolete. So I applied to join then - and they turned me down! So I emailed them to explain about old email addy etc. and they sent me through my details! No way can I figure out how they work.

This is for QDOS I assume?

Whilst the cash handling is the priority here you should mention-(don't go OTT) about this little 'extra'

You could put exactly how you felt (it was a welcome gesture?) Obviously the staff member is trying to please.

    They may get a raise;)

[Hope you know how to get the Hotel points for this visit]

I mentioned it, and that it was a gesture appreciated, but worded it in a way to avoid the cost.

    Are Hotel points worth collecting?
