:mad:Just got my sacking email from Gyp for coffee. I can add this to my email for burgers and mobiles. Not much to choose from now. I think the next phone call I get for a 100 mile trip I will say no to and get sacked from the few clients I have left on gyp!!

What did you do wrong for them to keep sacking you from various jobs?!?

You don't have to do anything 'wrong' to get a sacking email from gyp, their excuses are usually an arbitrary list of things you might have done - some clients it can be a bad report that they disagree with.
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

re edigital, if you have to pay for delivery they are legally required to refund delivery charges if you cancel the contract in accordance with the distance selling regulations (in writing within 7 days, eg email). they normally have a seperate section on how to do cancel under the regulations.

so imo it is best to go for free returns even if you have to pay for delivery (as it should be refunded). watch out though as one or two i have seen have said if you cancel under dsr then you need to pay for return (they can do this). although tbh if it is just a cd, dvd or tshirt it only costs about 80p to return anyway so plenty of profit left! :D

Hmmm, I'm definately learning quite quickly that they aren't the most friendly of companies. It's just silly as it means we are more likely to be less than honest and tick all the boxes that you know the client would want to hear so nothing gets pulled up. Which, as I've read several times from lots of people about lots of companies, just makes a bit of a mockery of the process.
BUt it's a few extra pennies in the bank at the end of the day I guess. (Or at the end of a couple of months more often!!)

Thats very nice to know, thank you very much. I've heard of the legislation but never in that context. Umm, i shall defo keep that in mind for the future.
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!
  • Did anyone see the Supermarket on ESA? Looks like it's a dummy one at the moment but even so it's still very interesting. Maybe the contract is up for renewal or something...

Gap are good for people just starting out with MSing because you can make mistakes and the money lost isn't usually significant, then if/when they sack you you've already got the experience and hopefully won't be relying on them too much for actual work and money.

However personally I've given bad reports on many occasions and have not yet been sacked. However I think it is important to also include some positives amongst the negatives. Usually it isn't all bad.

I hop eif they get it that they pay a bit more - they might get more of the jobs done if they do. I stopped doing them because there was so much work for so little reward :)

I agree. That's why there's so many still sitting there not taken. Before they dropped the fees they were snapped up within minutes!
