how to cancel contract and other questions re 3

Hi I wonder if anyone could help me out please?My contract will end on the 21st september and I wish to cancel it and get another cashback option which I have already found on internet and buying through quidco.
How do I go about cancelling it please?
I want to keep my number and my new phone will be with three as well and I would like to not be without my number at all.What's the best option to transfer from one account to the other please?thanks very much:beer:

Cancel you current contract, attain a PAC and port to a pay and go package, then get a PAC from them and transfer to the new contract.

thanks but how do I port to a pay and go package?do I have to get a pay as you go phone?

NOt necessarily, just a pay and go SIM card.

'3' normally have decent offers to retain customers. These offers are normally as good as the cashbacks from retailers (assuming you are getting a new handset and not clearance product).

So I suggest you request to cancel, tell them what handset you are offered and the oeverall cost for the duration of the contract and see what they can offer.

thanks but I would like to get a free phone and 12 month free contract .I think the one I looked at was in the clearance.I am with three at the moment so there is no way I can just transfer the number without losing any days ?:beer:

Firstly, you are required to give one months notice of termination of contract so you should have done this by AUG 21 !! Do it ASAP . A call to 333 would have done this, though generally they will put you through to their retentions dept. to entice you to stay.

To keep your current number : Obtain a sim for another provider (O2, virgin etc) and port your current 3 number to it. Wait a few days til you have your new 3 number and then port your old number from whoever you chose back to your new 3 contract. Does that make sense ?

You could also give your notice to 3 and ask to change your number to pay as you go when the contract ends then you will not miss any calls. I did this and changed my ansaphone message to give my new phone number out. Just keep your old phone with the sim in it for a few weeks to check for missed calls.
