    try updating the wifi adapter drivers

    sounds more like a memory probelm or a software issue. your graphics card could be shot, you could need more memory. try removing the wifi card and make sure all memory and the graphics card is properly seated in there respective slots.

    which version of windows are you running btw, because it is possible to reinstall windows without losing any data store on the system.

    Surley you installed drivers for your pc to work wirelessly.
    If you havent installed drivers, install the drivers (from CD or download it for your wireless from the internet)
    If you have installed the drivers, try to update the drivers. If that doesnt help, this may sound silly, but it worked for me and is worth a try... downgrade the driver... remove your existing driver and install a older version of it... stopped my laptop gettind random BSOD crashes
