Home invaded by a slug

Options
I'm not quite sure if this is the right forum for my question, this is my problem! I live in an upstairs flat the entrance to my flat is at street level, my hallway is carpeted, I have noticed in the last few days a silver trail on the carpet and yet I cannot see a slug anywhere.
So I assume the slug is wandering around during the night, so can anyone offer suggestions on how to remedy this situation. Thanks

A line of salt where you think he's coming in would probably do the job.

Little blighter won't like that very much.

I doubt it'll attack you in your bed.

Personally I wouldn't give it another thought.

Is it too quick for you to catch it?

It's a Welsh slug I have heard they can be quite fierce.

Leave out some lettuce, and hide behind the aspidistra until he appears...then pounce!

In all seriousness, put down the line of salt or other repellent from your local garden centre to stop more of them getting in, or plug the gaps in the door and frame where they're getting in.

The slime trail will dry up in a day or so and hoovers up quite easily.

The slug won't last long in a dry atmosphere, and if you follow the trail, you're likely to find a dried-up husk somewhere (likely between the carpet and the skirting) which will also hoover up easily.

I once found a large slug in my kitchen that had hitched a ride in my organic veg box. Have you bought any cabbage or lettuce recently as it may have arrived on that?
