whats better. Hotmail or gmail?

I just got gmail for the first time. I have been using hotmail for years and want to know is it a good idea to switch to gmail?

When was gmail introduced? I only recently heard about it

I switched from Hotmail to Gmail, and have never looked back.

Its much quicker than hotmail, and very simple to use with some nice features as well.

Gmail has been out for the last couple of years I think, but has only become widespread over the last 12 months or so as more and more people get invitations to send

And a another thing. How come I only got 15 invites available and I havent even invited anyone yet. I've seen people having 99 invites

The main selling point with gmail is the mailbox size and the ability to search but you will notice that gmail use your email content to provide adds. Gmail stores 2.7gb. My hotmail (co.uk) has 2.5gb but no search function.
Hope that helps a little. Also pocket pc phones have access to hotmail built in.

you got more invites the more you use gmail.

i prefer gmail over hotmail, but have both.

Search, labels, filters, stars, superb spam handling, html preview of PDF/DOC etc. Plus the biggest reason for me which is not lining Bill Gates' pockets by using hotmail!

i have gmail from hotmail and i have always hated how slow hotmail was, you can een access gmail on wap phones now as well think its m.google.com or soemthing like that, which is very handy for when im too lazy to turn on my pc......

I prefer gmail - I do still have a hotmail account but I am unable to sort through the senders with any ease as they changed it so I prefer the gmail - more user friendly.

ive started using gmail too, im preferring it tbh. The only answer to your wuestion is personal preference, both are good, just use the one you prefer!

Well that was a bit off topic, but I keep both email accounts. Gmail is great, I do business with that, and hotmail, for personal stuff

And Gmail was released on April Fools Day in 2004
