Almost certainly impossible, the car hire companies take a swipe of credit cards in order to protect their investments; their cars.0

What about getting a prepaid credit card? According to this article - http://www.what-prepaid-card.co.uk/car-hire/Using-prepaid-card-hire-a-car.html - there are a couple that can be used for car hire.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon

Well share your good news with us all, name them, perhaps others may wish to use this hire company that doesn't require a Credit Card.
Here is the website, I emailed them and then booked on-line. No credit card required and you pay in £ when you get there. Will update after the hols.

A few years ago now we used a local car hire company on the Costa del Sol. They said that they usually insist on a credit card but seemed to like the look of us enough to allow us to do it on a debit card.0

That is a broker, not a car hire company, they don't actually have any cars of their own.;)0 -

They told me they prefer payment in pounds and if we pay by debit/credit card it may cost more due to the exchange rate etc0
