Iphone email problem not sending

Hi there
Just got the 3g iphone yesterday. Got my emails set up on it and it recieves fine but wont send or reply to any. Says problem with the mail server. Anybody know how to sort this?

Sounds like you've not input your outgoing mail server/password correctly. I'd suggest that's where you focus your attention.

It's a Antispam measure, you usually can only post theroug an outgoing mailserver from within that network.

Most likely you are trying to send via the same server as your home email, for example I'm on VM t home so I use smtp.virginmedia.com as my outgoing server. However if I use my iPhone I 'm not sending from the VM network so it can't be used to post and rejects any attempt to use it (despite the fact it knows my username and password. I'm on Voadafone so I have to use the SMTP setting of the network (ie SMTP.360.com) and I had to register and get a username / password to use on it.

What network are you on? That way we may be able to telll you outgoing mail server you need to use.

Im on orange, and the 2 emails I have set up on it are a hotmail.co.uk and a live.co.uk
